Thompson Family Cemetery

From Hwy 64, go north on Hwy 163 about three miles and turn left (west) onto CR 372. Go 2-3 miles and the old two story Thompson home sits on on a hill on the left. The cemetery is by the barn. Thanks to Angela Williamson for sharing this cemetery.

The graves are those of my great grandarents, David Morrow Thompson and Mary Emily "Mollie" Thompson and two young daughters Ruth and Olive. They are not related to any of the Thompsons currently in the area. They are the parents of my grandmother Ruby Thompson Burford (Mrs. Raymond Burford). She remained in Cross Co the remainder of her life, however, her other siblings moved to other areas. There was only one brother who survived infancy, Chalmers Thompson who was a ticket agent for the railroad at McCrory. The others were girls who left the area. The property you describe remained in our family until this year when it was sold to the Hylle family.
