CRUMPLER/OWENS
I am looking for info on my ggrandfather BINON F.CRUMPLER and his wife
MARTHA (OWENS) CRUMPLER who are buried in the Ebenezer Methodist Cemetary
near Village in Columbia County. I need to know the name of BINON's parents
and where he was born. I know he was born in 1838 but I cannot find his
birthplace. He was in the Civil War, 15th Arkansas Infantry.
ELLIOTT
NANCY ELLIOTT was on the 1850 census in Pike Co. Mississippi. In 1860
she was living in Columbia Co. Ark. Children: James, Elizabeth,Joshua,Francis,
Mary, Simion, John, Nancy, and Emily Ann "Emma" Elliott. Emma Elliott b.
20 march 1843 m. Robert Martin Key 10 may 1859.They had 12 children.Nancy's
husband must have died aft. 1843 in Pike Co. Ms. I don't know his name.
PHILLIPS/SMITH/LOVE/KIRK
Seeking info on George Dallas Phillips b. 1860 in Columbia Co., AR.
Son of Samuel B. Phillips/Philips b. 1836 in AL & Emily Smith b. 1836
in AL. George D. Phillips married Katie Love in August 1881 in Columbia
Co., AR. Samuel B. Phillips reportedly served with the Confederacy during
the Civil War and died during a measle epidemic in 1862. Emily Smith Phillips
remarried a man named J. Kirk. She had four children with Samuel B. Phillips
but I do not know the names of the other three children. Anyhelp will be

I am researching the family of Charles W. TALLEY, born May 18, 1806
in Georgia. He died August 23, 1876 in Columbia County, Arkansas. He was
married to 1. Martha Broadwater and 2. Sarah Harris. He and Sarah and several
of their children migrated to Columbia County, Arkansas.
DEATON/SCOTT/WEIR
Searching for information concerning Ruful Allen DEATON. He homesteaded
land in Columbia County in the 1850's. He was related to the SCOTT and
WEIR families. Would like to trade informaiton.

James Calvin ROE abt 1865, their son was James Franklin ROE, b Nov. 20,

THOMAS
My g- grandmother MARY ANN THOMAS (married first to Jones) was born
abt. 1840 in Butler Co., AL. Her brother was JOHN ARRINGTON THOMAS. They
with other family members whose names I do not know moved to Columbia Co.,
AR in 1850. John Arrington lived there when he joined the CSA army. About
1870 he moved to TX. Mary Ann must have done the same or to OK at about
the same time. There may have also been a SILOUS THOMAS. Any information
I can get on this family will be sincerely appreciated. Barbara.

John BYRD was born abt: 1854 in Arkansas in Columbia Co. married Nannie
( Nan) MAGNESS between 1886 and 1888, d: 1894 DeSoto Parish LA. Nannie
was born 1858 in Arkansas and remarried after Johns death to a J. Whitlock.
Nannie died 1835 in DeSOTO Parish LA. John and Nannie BYRD had son John
BYRD and a daughter Effie Jane BYRD. Effie Jane was born in LA. and married
William Jack Stewart from Columbia Co. AR. John BYRD's mother and father
were also born in AR. Would like to have information on the BYRD or MAGNESS

I have a page from the 1860 census of Alabama Township in Columbia
County.It showes William E. MILLS listed with his children and wife. It
also showes his Ocupation as a Mechanic. I was wondering if anyone had
any info on what or why he would be listed as a Mechanic in 1860. I find
this very strange and would like to know what jobs or business would requier
a Mechanic in that area. Any help will be very greatful. David Broyles

I am searchng for information about the family of Cavel JACKSON, born
February 28, 1812, in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, and died February 7,
1860 in Columbia County, Arkansas. His wife, Jane Amanda PERRY, was born
about 1820 in South Carolina. The family came to Columbia County in the
early 1850's from Harris County, Georgia. Their children were Jeanette,
Virginia, Joseph D., Mary Rebecca, William Henry, Susan C., and Nancy Amanda.
Their son, William Henry JACKSON, my great grandfather, was born September
6, 1846 in Harris County, Georgia, and died June 5, 1914, in Columbia County.
His wife, Martha Jane BAKER, daughter of Thomas BAKER and Lucy Caroline
MITCHELL, was born October 21, 1852, in Mississippi, and died August 20,
1942, in Columbia County. Cavel JACKSON was the brother of John Andrew
JACKSON, who came to Columbia County in 1852. Many members of the JACKSON
family are buried in the Shiloh Cemetery. Jane Brazell Sisolak

I am searching for information about Jacob S. BRAZELL, born May 4,
1808, in Georgia and died September 20, 1890, in Columbia County, Arkansas.
Jacob married Lucina SCOGGINS in Coweta County, Georgia, in 1835. In 1856,
the family moved from Harris County, Georgia, to Columbia County and settled
near Lamartine with their sons James W., Lewis Franklin, Thomas L., William
H., Jesse White, Jabez A., John M.(maybe), and Millard (Mink) F. Their
son, Benjamin Hill BRAZELL, my g grandfather, was born in Columbia County
in 1857 and married Mary Edney DENNIS, the daughter of Joseph Adkins DENNIS
and Frances PARKER. Jacob and Lucina BRAZELL, Mink BRAZELL, Ben and Mary
Edney BRAZELL, and Joseph A. and Frances DENNIS are all buried in the Shiloh
Cemetery. I would like to share information with their descendants. Jane

My GGGrandfather, Isaac Simpson Hayes was b 14 Dec 1812 in NC.Married
first to Judea Varner, 17 June 1840. They had 9 children. J. Varner died
3 May 1859 in LA. He married #2, Cynthia Ann Isler on 17 Sept 1865 in Columbia
Co. ARK, and they had two girls, Medora Bailey, b 30 May 1866 and Sarah
b 1869. She married James Casey. Isaac died in Columbia Co., but I don't
know when or where he is buried. If anyone out there has any information
on his parents and/or siblings, I would really appreciate learning about
them. So far it seems as tho he just came down from a spaceship or something!
