More History Disappearing
"The Union Pacific Railroad began last week tearing down the train station located at the East end of Vine street, at First street for the past 65 years, since 1925. A few years back a [sic] Elementary student's name was not included in the Honor Roll list furnished by the school for publication. After the list was published the little girl called The Courier and let her disappointment be known. She ended the conversation by saying, "I am very upsetted." Well, that's the way I am, "very upsetted" about the removal of all of Corning's landmarks... Hop Alley, the County Jail, now the Depot!" (mv)
