Tom Staley Home, Corning
From the Clay County Courier:
"1902 was one of the Winters that was a conversation piece for years to come and the original ice storm was the start of a snow that kept the ground covered until the late February thaw.
In the background is the [portion missing]
The above picture is a January display of the ice storm that ushered in the year of 1902. The Staleys appreciated the artistry expended in making the scene and Tom Staley and his nephew, Loren Russ, posed in the Staley front yard.
[Portion missing] Staley home, which had been built by an earlier Corning pioneer, Dr. W. B. Harb, in 1876. The two holly trees on eigher [sic] side of the front walk are still surviving. The old home was moved South and a new Staley home built in Staley Park around 1907."
