Ruff

Nancy Elizabeth Mathis Pitman Ruff, wife of Erasmus D. Pitman and second wife of James Gray Ruff.  The grandchild is Evelyn Ruff.  James Gray Ruff was born in Greene County, NC in 1823 and died at Pitman, AR, in 1901.  Married Catherine Lashlee in Carroll Co., TN in 1846.  She died and James married "Lizzie" Mathis in 1871, Ripley County, MO.  They lived near Pitman.  Lizzie was born 1845 in Claiborne Co., TN and died in 1924.  Both are buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Pitman.
