"Hitch Yard Cafe Number One that had been established by P. L. Oliver in
two pre-emptied horse stalls of the Oliver and Company hitch yard, were soon
such a bonanza that it soon outfrew [sic] its primitive quarters and Paul gained
parental permission to replace the horse stalls with a frame store
building. D. N. Gage was chosen as the new manager and the combination of
a yard spinner and fiddler for entertainment was the menu that Mrs. Gage and her
assistant, Mrs. Ollie Pierce, served the patrons. This photo shows the
manager, D. N. Gate [Gage] and Mrs. Gage and her assistand [sic]. The lone
customer is not identified."
