Hall Brothers Barber Shop, 1912
"The business district of Corning that had straggled during the 19th century from The Iron Mountain Depot at Main to the Court Square began to focalize with the erection of the new brick buildings along West Second from Elm South to Pine. The Corning Bank had materialized on the corner of West Second and Pine in 1895 and W. D. Polk gradually extended his row of brick business places on the West side of the street Northward toward Vine. In 1912 another double business brick was added to be occupied by Steinbergs and the Hall Brothers Barber Shop. The Hall Brothers, Sam and Ed, were well established local barbers and their shop had moved from its early location in a frame building on West First to the J. N. Barnes concrete in 1906 and now was making its move into a new shop with the finest barber equipment that Corning ever had."
