Sylvanus Bishop built this first home in 1878.
It is still standing in good condition.
It is west of, or behind, the Corning Bank.

“Sylvanus Bishop’s home built in 1882.
It had four large bed rooms, hall poarch [sic] upstairs, living room,
music room, bed room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, summer kitchen, and three
poarches [sic] down stairs. This
building was torn down in 1949.” (FBC).
