Will of Rachil JamesIn the Name of God amen. I Rachel James of the State of Arkansas and County of Bradley of sound mind but in view of death or dissolu? deseased do will and bequeth my property as follows 1st I bequeath my body to the ground on earth and my spirit to god who gave it. 2nd I bequeath to my son John C. James a certain Roan Pony which is the only one I have, together with a sow and seven shoats which I bought of him the said J. C. James and the grind stone all of which is in consideration of services rendered my daughter Martha, lately deceased, and myself. 3rd I bequeath to William T. James son of John C. James - two steer yearlings called Logan and Dick. 4th I bequeath to my daughter Rachel James two cows and calves called Blaze and Beauty. Also a black and white sow and six shoats known as her sow together with the loom, and all the household furniture, the geese and all that was Martha's. 4 I bequeath to my daughter Nancy Catharine one cow and calf and a spotted sow and six shoats. 5 The land and whatever other property I possess I wil share it be sold and all lawful debts satisfied and the remainder to be equally divided amongst my children. I leave Dr. C. B. Landers and Lovett Reaves Executors. The above is my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereto affixed my mark and said in the presence of God and these witnesses. James I did subscribe it according by C. B. Landers Before the Clerk in vacation State of Arkansas} County of Bradley} On this the 19th day of August AD 1861 personally appeared before me W Y McCammon Clerk of the Circuit Court and Ex Offices Clerk of the Probate Court in and for the County aforesaid C. B Landers and Sarah C. James who being duly sworn make oath that Rachel James the Testatrix to the foregoing Will did sign seal publish and declare the same to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other and at her request did sign our respective names thereto as witnesses.
