In the name of God Amen
I, Perry F. Ingrham of the State of Arkansas Bradley County but now on a visit
to my old home in the State of South Carolina Kershaw District being in feeble
health but of sound and disposing mind and memory do now and herein make and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
First, It is my will and desire that all my lawful debts be paid, this to be
done with my ready cash. The proceeds of my crop in Arkansas and so much as
may be necessary of fund due me by notes accounts or other that I may die
possessed of.
Secondly, I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Louisa F. Ingrham
the following seven negroes to wit. Bill, Wylie, Amanda, and four children
namely Charity, Jesse, Henry, and Louis, these and their future increase I
give to my said wife Louisa F. Ingrham. I also give to my beloved wife Louisa
F.Ingrham the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars this to be paid her out of the
balance of funds due me by notes accoutns, or otherwise after discharging
all of my Lawful Debts.
Thirdly, I give devise and bequeath to my infant son John Monroe Ingrham
the following nine negroes and their future increase. To wit Mars, Mans,
Polly, Jack, Martha Hester, Daniel, Cumfrey & Sarah,together with everything
else of value I may die possessed of except so much as I have otherwise
disposed of in the first and second clauses of this my last Will and testament.
Fourthly, it is my Will and desire that in the event my son John Monroe Ingrham
should die leaving no child or children then in that case all that I have herein
willed to my son John M. Ingrham shall go to my brother John M. Ingrham or to his
children or child if he my said Brother John M. Ingrham should be dead leaving
no child or children then and in that case all that I have herein willed to my
son John Monroe Ingrham shall go to my father James M. Ingrham if he be living
but if my father James M. Ingrham has deceased then and in that case it shall
go to my Fathers lawful heirs.
Fifth, I nominate my father James M. Ingrham, my brother John M. Ingrham of
S.C. and my former father-in-law of Arkansas John M. Pagan, executors of
this my will and I do hereby authorize and empower the said Executors or either
of them separately as they may see proper, to make full and clear titles to
certain Lawer's which I have recently sold in the state of Arkansas Bradley
County and I do furthermore authorize & impower the said executors to sell
and otherwise manage other negroes that I have herein willed to my son John
Monroe Ingrham as they may deem best for the interest of my said son, John
Monroe Ingrham.
I revoke all other wills made at any former period by me. I make, ordain,
and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I Perry F. Ingrham have herewith set my hand and
seal this the 27th October, A D 1860
