Holly Springs Baptist Church April 20, 1931 The Holly Springs Baptist Church met in regular conference April 20th, 1931. The minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Letter of Harry Armstrong read and accepted. On move and second conference was left open until the following Sunday, May 3rd to decide on the proposition of building. On May 3rd the aggreement drawn up between Holly Springs Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge was read and no action was taken until Sunday May 17th, when the church voted unanimously to accept the proposition made by the Masonic Lodge. Sister Madge Polk was granted a letter of dismission. No further business, conference adjourned in order. W. C. Rowe - moderater Sammy Quimby - church clerk Approved May 24, 1931 Holly Springs Baptist Church August 23, 1931 The Holly Springs Baptist Church met in regular conference, Aug.23, 1931 The minutes of previous conference were read and approved. This being the time for the annual election, the church went into the election with Mr. W. Warren as moderater pro-tem. W. C. Rowe was unanimously called as pastor to serve for one year. Harold Creed was elected as church clerk. Carl Thompson was elected as church treasurer. Anita Baker was elected as church pianist. Una Stuart was elected as church assist. pianist. W. M. Wylie, H. C. Johnson, and Mrs. H. C. Johnson were elected as delegates to the Bartholomew assoiciation. The church decided to let them select some one else if they could not go. W. Warren was elected as superintendent of sunday school. J. S. Creed was elected as assistant superindendent of sunday school. Una Stuart was elected as secretary of sunday school. Conference was left open until after the series of meetings. Our meeting started the night of August the 30th with Bro. Roy Ward of England, Ark. doing the preacing and continued until the night of September 2. The meeting was very successful. We heard some good sermons, and I believe the church, or majority of the church was strengthened in the faith. There were nine (9) additions to the church. By Baptism (5) Nail Hagood, Walter Joiner, Yrma Lee Frazier, Eva May Wheeler, and Mrs. Bill Quimby. By letter (2) Mr. Tobe Turner and Mrs. Tobe Turner. A Mr. Tyler & wife were here with Bro. Ward and Mr. Tyler conducted the song service, and sang several special songs which we all enjoyed. Mrs. Tyler did a wonderful work with the small children. A collection was taken for Bro. Ward and amounted to the sum of $50.00. We also gave $8.00 to Mr. Tyler. The baptizing was held at Fergusons pond the morning of September 3rd at 10:30 o'clock.
