Verna Mae Williams HudsonVerna Mae Hudson, age 86, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Warren, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rebhabilitiation Center. She was born Febuary 15, 1920, in New Edinburg, Arkansas, a daughter of Marvin Alexander Williams and Anna Belle Carraway Williams. She was a graduate of New Edinburg high School and a retired beautician. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church, Little Rock, and a longtime former member of Cavary Baptist Church, Warren. Surviving is her husband, Sidney Bruff Hudson, whom she married on Debermber 15, 1940, in New Edinburg, Arkansas; a son, Richard Bruff Hudson and spouse Joanna, Fayetteville, Arkansas; a daughter Marilyn Jane and spouse Charles, Little Rock; 2 brothers, Marvin Burgess Williams, Cornersville, Arkansas, and Lathan Preston Williams, West Monroe, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Misti Ann Jones and Charles Douglas Jones, both of Little Rock, Jason Riley Hudson and Hayes Chandler Hudson, both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and four greatgrandchildren. A brother, Freddie Eugene Williams, and sister Opal Jean Williams, preceded her in death. Funeral services were 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Frazer's Chapel in Warren with Rev. Rocky Goodwin officiating. Joyce Pevey was pianist, and the Pace Sisters sang. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. Active pallbearers were James Kitchens, Mike Williams, Chris Williams, Jon Allen Williams, Terry Jones, and Bob Powell.
