Slaughter ObituariesMRS. F. V. SLAUGHTER Dies At Arkansas City [ 1955 ] Mrs. Fannie Viola [ Belin ] Slaughter died at her home in Arkansas City Thursday. She was born in Bradley County in 1878 and was 77 years of age at the time of her death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Beatrice Brown of Arkansas City and Mrs. Mattie Gardner of Tiller; three brothers, Jobe and Willie Belin of Banks and Joe Belin of Hermitage; 17 grandchildren, and 22 great-grand children. She was a member of the Penticostal Church. Funeral services For Mrs. Slaughter were conducted at Union Grove Church in Calhoun County Friday afternoon by Rev. J. G. Cotton of Winchester. Interment was in Union Grove Cemetery by Frazier's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J. R. Mulligan, Allen Davis, Albert Davis, Mike Belin, Elijah Hall and Monroe Dodson.
MRS. L. SLAUGHTER Mrs. Louaddie [ Mulligan ] Slaughter, aged 49 died at her home in the city last Wednesday morning at 4:10 o'clock [ 1942 ] after an illness of three years. She was born Calhoun County, but lived most of her life in Bradley County. Mrs. Slaughter was born January 11, 1893, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mulligan. In 1909 she was married to J. F. Slaughter and came to Warren to make her home. She is survived by her husband, six daughters, Clemie, Carmen, Mrs. Ralph Grice, Lorene, Lottie Bell and Cleo, one son Martin, all of Warren. One sister, Mrs Clara Henderson of Harrell and four brothers, George, William, Bruce and John Mulligan of Calhoun County. The body was taken to Jersey for burial by Frazier's Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 by Rev. S. H. Vaughn at Shady Grove Church and interment was in Jersey Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. T. Primm, Louis Helms, J. H. Nickerbocker, Ennis Davis, Carl Johnson, and
Frank Rowland.
JESSIE J. SLAUGHTER Jessie J. Slaughter, age 73, of Bastrop, La (formerly of Warren) died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at his home. Born Nov. 12, 1925, in Hamburg, he was a son of the late William James and Francis Burch Slaughter. He was a retired A P & L employee with 31 years of service in the Crosset-Warren Division, a Baptist, a World War II and Korean Army Veteran. Survivors are his wife, Betty Gray Slaughter of Bastrop, La; two sons, Bill Slaughter of Warren and Buck Wright of Smackover, 2 daughters, Patti Hilborn of Terrell, Texas, and Nancy Anders of Warren, 2 step sons, Eugene Streeter and Lloyd Streeter, both of Bastrop, La; 3 step-daughters, Frances Peppers of Garland, TX, Betty Smalling of Sterlinton, La, and Ruth McCoin of Bastrop, La; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Slaughter, who died in 1981. Funeral services were held Tuesday June 1, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at Frazier's Funeral Home in Warren with Rev. Thad Douglas officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist and Jimmie Haygood was soloist. Burial with military honors was in Hickory Springs Cemetery near Warren. Active pallbearers were Sonny Oden, Wayne Shelton, Gerald Thompson, Charlie Cox, Jimmy Boykin and Johnny Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Doyle Gray, Raplh Gray, Dr. Wallace Marsh, Bill Wood, Robert McDougald, Jack Stanley, Charles Patton, Calvert Lindsey, Johnny Shelton, Lane Boykin, Donald Smith, Jeff Davis, and Dr. Robert Lyon.
