Mrs. Sara SingerDies in hospitalMrs. Sara Hall Singer, aged 81 of Warren died in the Bradley County Memorial Hospital Monday. (June 9, 1961 ) Mrs. Singer was born in Warren in 1879, the daughter of John and Mattie Ederington Hall. She had resided here all of her life. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Meta Owens of Michigan, and five step-children. Included are Mrs. Martha Lou Laman of Alexandria, La.; Mrs. Maude Pollard of Winnsboro, La.; Mrs. Sue Hawk of Texarkana, Texas; Hopson Singer of Shreveport, Miss.; Eunice Singer of Warren; and J. T. Singer of Winnsboro, La. Funeral was at Frazer's Chapel Tuesday afternoon by Rev. L. B. Jordan, Rev. Gerald W. Trussell, Rev. W. E. Speed, and Rev. David Shepperson, Jr. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer Funeral home. Active pallbearers were W. D. Roddey, Jr., W. C. Hargis, Jr., Morris Johnson, S. C. Carmical, John N. Scobey, and Homer Lathan. Honorary pallbearers were T. B. Beard, W. H. Pumphrey, Dr. W. O. Pontius, W. C. Hargis, Harl Strahan, J. S. Watkins, Dr. W. D. Robertson, Dr. Merl Crow, Hugh Strait, Arthur Wear, John C. Burch, K. B. Montgomery, ---- Lipton, Edwin Hankins, Louis W. Ederington, Herman Adams, and Ed McEwen. Ladies in charge of the flowers were the Ruth Class of the First Baptist Church, Mrs. James Cuthbertson, Mrs. Joe Watkins, Edna Stoker, Mrs. Robert Cox, Mrs. Jimmie Ashcraft, and Mrs. M. O. Singer. |
