November 22, 1914 - January 02, 2006 Leroy Myres, 91, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at Trinity Village Medical Center. Mr. Myres was born Sunday, November 22, 1914, in Bradley County, Arkansas to the late Enoch Morgan Myres and the late Sallie Anice Davidson Myres. He was reared and received his early education in Bradley County, Arkansas. Mr. Myres was in the Civillian Conservation Corp at Monticello before attanding Arkansas A & M College (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello). In 1940, he began working at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, then in 1942, he enlisted in U S Army and served four years in the Pacific Theater. Upon his return from the military, he returned to work for the United States Civil Service at the Arsenal as an Accountant and worked there until his retirement in February of 1975, after thirty-four years of service. He was a member of South Side Baptist Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Jacob Brump Lodge #160, the Valley of Arkansas Consistory in Little Rock, the York Rite in Pine Bluff and the Sahara Shrine Temple in Pine Bluff. Survivors include three sisters, Marie Taylor of Arlington, Washington, Minnie Bea Woodall of Warren, Arkansas, Mae Etta Halligan of Warren, Arkansas; brother, Floyd Myres of Warren, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rawls Myres, who he married December 16, 1949, two brothers, Clifton Leon Myres and Walter Lee Myres. Friends will be received noon to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Ralph Robinson & Son. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at 1:30 PM at Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Matt Pryor officiating.
