Claudia Vickers succumbs at 100 Mrs. Claudia Jane Vickers, age 100, of Warren, died Mon- day, August 29, 1988 at the Pine Lodge Nursing Home She was the widow of Thomas Joseph Vickers who died July 22, 1962. Mrs. Vickers was born October 22, 1887, in Bradley County, Arkansas, a daughter of the late John York and Martha Johnson York. She was a homemaker and a life long member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Harold Vickers and Arnold Vickers, both of Pensacola, Fla.; 1 daughter, Mrs. Clyde Mann, Hermitage; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ola Thomas, Pine Bluff and Mrs. Gordia Hargis, [actual name is Gordie Hargis.] |
Warren; 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Thurs- day, September 1 at the Union Hill Baptist Church by her grandson the Rev. Wayman Mann and Elder Paul Daniels. Singing was provided by the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Choir under the leadership of Charlie Morgan. Burial was in the Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Lay- mon Mann, Alonzo Vickers, Clay Lowery, Phillip Sprague, Guy Morgan and Jim Strickland. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kerry Pennington, Charlie Mor- gan, L. D. Willis, Ronnie John- son, Godfrey York and Ronald Wheeler. [actual name is Geoffrey York.] |
