John William Bigham
John was born
8-14-1845 in Montgomery Co. Ill. He later joined the Union army in
the Civil War. He served in Co. K 3rd Ill. Cavalry. During much
of the war he fought against the Confederate Gen. Price in Arkansas.
Ironically, after the war he moved to Arkansas. He married 2-5-1881
to Arkansas Clayton one of three daughters of James P. Clayton and
Mary Young of Arkansas County. John Bigham and Arkansas Clayton only
stayed married for one year.
